Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 Sachets is an over-the-counter analgesic and antipyretic powder drug based on Paracetamol, Ascorbic acid and Phenylephrine hydrochloride. Tachifludec Orange Powder is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of flu, colds and related feverish and painful states. The decongestant action of Tachifludec on the first upper airways fluidifies and frees from mucus and phlegm in case of cough and cold.
Tachifludec Orange Taste 10 Sachets is a preparation formulated with:
• Paracetamol : active ingredient with anti-febrile and pain-relieving action which makes the medicine particularly suitable in cases of: pain and spasms in the stomach and intestines, pain caused by obstacles in the flow of the urinary tract and biliary tract and menstrual pain.
• C vitamin (Ascorbic Acid): active ingredient that participates in the body's defense system.
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride : sympathomimetic active ingredient which acts by causing a vasoconstriction of the local vascular bed and improving the symptoms of nasal obstruction.
Dosage and method of use of Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets
Dosage Adults and children over 12 years of age : 1 sachet of Tachifludec Orange Powder every 4-6 hours and up to a maximum of 3 sachets in 24 hours. Do not give Tachifludec Orange Powder to children under 12 years of age.
Method of administration: Dissolve 1 sachet of Tachifludec Orange Powder in half a glass of very hot water and, if desired, dilute with cold water to cool and sweeten as desired.
Active Ingredients and Excipients Tachifludec Orange for 1 sachet
Active ingredients : Paracetamol 600 mg., Ascorbic acid 40 mg., Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg. (equal to Phenylephrine 8.2 mg.).
Excipients : Sucrose, Anhydrous Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Corn Starch, Sodium Cyclamate, Sodium Saccharide, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Blood Orange Flavor, Curcumin (E 100), Dried Glucose Syrup.
Contraindications Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets
Contraindications of Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Children under 12 years old.

Patients taking beta-blockers and tricyclic antidepressants.

Patients with bronchial asthma, phenylketonuria, narrow-angle glaucoma, or concurrently taking sympathomimetic drugs.

Patients suffering from hepatic or renal insufficiency, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
- Products with paracetamol are contraindicated in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase insufficiency and in those with severe haemolytic anaemia.
Warnings Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets
Patients should be advised not to take other medicines containing paracetamol as high doses of paracetamol can cause serious adverse reactions.
Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment. The danger of overdose is indeed greater in patients with liver problems.
Be careful before using the product in patients with enlarged prostate gland or vascular occlusive disease.
Do not exceed the recommended dose and do not administer for more than 3 consecutive days. The drug contains: 6 mmol of sodium per sachet.
Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicinal product.
Patients with diabetes should take into consideration the sucrose content within the drug when taking more than 2 sachets per day.
Side effects Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets
The use of paracetamol can give nausea and vomiting, found as common side effects.
Interactions Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets and other medicines
The hepatotoxic effect of paracetamol can be enhanced by the assumption of other drugs active on the liver, such as zidovudine and isoniazid which can produce an inhibition of the metabolism of paracetamol.
Administration of probenecid before paracetamol decreases paracetamol clearance and urinary elimination.
The product taken in high doses can enhance the effect of coumarin anticoagulants.
Metoclopramide and domperidone can increase the absorption of paracetamol, while it is reduced or delayed by cholestyramine and anticholinergics, respectively.
Phenylephrine can antagonize the effect of beta-blockers and antihypertensive drugs and can potentiate the action of monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
Concomitant use of phenylephrine with tricyclic antidepressants or sympathomimetic amines may increase the risk of cardiovascular effects.
Ascorbic acid can increase the absorption of iron and estrogen.
Ascorbic acid is metabolized to oxalate, and can potentially cause hyperoxaluria in patients and kidney stones through crystallization of calcium oxalate in patients who are prone to form calcium stones.
The administration of paracetamol can interfere with the determination of uricemia and with that of glycemia.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets
Can I take Tachifludec Orange Powder 10 sachets when pregnant or breastfeeding?
In pregnant women there are no contraindications with the use of paracetamol when used in the recommended doses.
Paracetamol is excreted in breast milk but in clinically insignificant quantities.
