Bisolvon Linctus Mucolytic Syrup for Fatty Cough 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

Bisolvon Linctus is a Bromhexine-based syrup with a mucolytic action suitable for adults, adolescents and children. Useful in case of acute and chronic respiratory diseases, with cough and production of phlegm .

Bisolvon Linctus concentrates in the bronchial and lung tissue, where the phlegm is present. Here it acts with its triple effect:

• Fluidifies mucus deposits in the respiratory tract.
• Helps to expectorate and eliminate phlegm.
  
• Calm your cough.

Bisolvon Linctus syrup does not contain sucrose or fructose and can be administered to diabetic subjects.

How to take Levotuss Syrup?

Adults: take 5 - 10 ml of Bisolvon Linctus Syrup 4 mg/5 ml using the conical dispenser, 3 times a day

Children over 2 years of age: 2.5 - 5 ml of Bisolvon Linctus Syrup 4 mg/5 ml using the conical dispenser, 3 times a day

The syrup can be administered to diabetics and children over 2 years of age, it does not contain fructose or sucrose. Do not exceed the recommended doses. It is recommended to take Bisolvon Linctus Syrup after meals.

Active Ingredients and Excipients Bisolvon Linctus Mucolytic Syrup for Fatty Cough 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

5 ml of Bisolvon Linctus Syrup 4 mg/5 ml contain:

Active ingredient : bromhexine hydrochloride 4 mg (equivalent to bromhexine 3.65 mg);

Excipients : benzoic acid, liquid maltitol, sucralose, chocolate flavour, cherry flavour, levomenthol, purified water.

Contraindications Bisolvon Linctus Cough Mucolytic Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

Bisolvon Linctus Mucolytic Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml is contraindicated in the case of:

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
• Children under the age of 2.
• Feeding time.
• Hereditary conditions which may be incompatible with one of the excipients.

Warnings Bisolvon Linctus Cough Mucolytic Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

In very few cases, at the same time as the administration of expectorants such as bromhexine, serious skin lesions such as Stevens Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) have been observed. Most of these could be explained by the severity of underlying diseases or by other drugs taken at the same time.

Also, in the early stage of Stevens Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), patients may initially experience nonspecific flu-like symptoms, such as fever, chills, rhinitis, cough, and sore throat. Symptomatic treatment with cough and cold therapy may be undertaken due to these misleading symptoms. Therefore, if new lesions of the skin or mucous membranes occur, consult your doctor immediately and interrupt the treatment with bromhexine as a precaution.

Mucolytics can induce bronchial obstruction in children younger than 2 years. In fact, the drainage capacity of the bronchial mucus is limited in this age range, due to the physiological characteristics of the respiratory tract. They should therefore not be used in children under the age of 2 (see section "When it should not be used").

Side effects Bisolvon Linctus Mucolytic Syrup Cough Oily 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

Bisolvon Linctus Mucolytic Syrup can cause side effects:

• Immune system, skin, subcutaneous tissue, respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: frequency not known: anaphylactic reaction including anaphylactic shock, angioedema, bronchospasm, urticaria, pruritus; frequency rare: skin rash and other hypersensitivity reactions.
• Gastrointestinal disorders: frequency uncommon: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and upper abdominal pain.

Compliance with the instructions contained in the leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. These side effects are usually transient. However, when they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Overdose Bisolvon Linctus Cough Mucolytic Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml
To date, no specific overdose symptoms have been reported in humans. In the reported cases of accidental overdose and/or medication errors, the observed symptoms correspond to the known side effects of Bisolvon at recommended dosages, and symptomatic treatment may be required. In case of accidental ingestion of an excessive dose of Bisolvon, notify your doctor immediately or contact the nearest hospital.

No interactions with other medicinal products have been reported.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding Bisolvon Linctus Fatty Cough Mucolytic Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml

Can I take Bisolvon Linctus Syrup when pregnant or breastfeeding?

There are limited data from the use of bromhexine in pregnant women. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity.

As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of Bisolvon during pregnancy.

It is not known whether bromhexine and its metabolites pass into human milk. Available pharmacodynamic and toxicological data in animals have shown excretion of bromhexine and its metabolites in breast milk. A risk to the breastfed child cannot be excluded.

Bisolvon should not be used during breastfeeding . Consult your doctor if you suspect you are pregnant or wish to plan a pregnancy.

Fertility : No studies have been conducted to investigate effects on human fertility. Based on preclinical experience, there are no indications of possible effects on fertility following the use of bromhexine.

How to store Bisolvon Linctus Syrup?

The expiry date of Bisolvon Linctus Syrup 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml is indicated on the package. After first opening the 250 ml 4 mg/5 ml bottle, the product should be consumed within 12 months.
