HOW TO USE

How do I use Thermacare XL 2 Piece Versatile Self-Heating Band?

Open the package when ready to use. ThermaCare can take up to 30 minutes to reach its therapeutic temperature. Remove the backing paper to expose the adhesive side. Place on the painful area and press the adhesive side firmly into the skin. Be careful during application not to overlap the cells. Do not use on the face, head, breasts, inside of the arm, armpits, fingers, lower abdomen, groin, inside of the knee, feet or toes. Over 55 years of age, wear Thermacare over a thin piece of clothing (or fabric), not in direct contact with the skin. For maximum effectiveness, wear ThermaCare for 8 hours.
The product can be thrown away hot or cold with normal household waste.

WARNINGS

What are the warnings of the Thermacare XL 2 Pieces Versatile Self-Heating Band?

Warnings

Do not use in case of:
• if the contents of the cells leak and/or the band is damaged;
• with medicated creams or ointments, plasters or other heat sources;
• on scratched or abraded skin;
• on bruises and swelling that have appeared in the last 48 hours;
• on body areas insensitive to heat;
• by people who are unable to follow all instructions for use or who are unable to remove the product themselves, including children and dependent elderly people;
• Do not use on the face, head, breasts, inside of the arm, armpits, fingers, lower abdomen, groin, inside of the knee, feet or toes.

Seek the advice of your doctor before use in cases of diabetes, circulation problems, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and pregnancy.
This product can cause burns. To reduce the risk:
• Check your skin periodically for any signs of irritation or burns and, if any are found, discontinue use immediately.
• If you feel excessive heat, discontinue use or wear ThermaCare over a piece of clothing, not in direct contact with the skin.
• Over 55 years of age, the risk of sunburn increases with age, wear ThermaCare over an item of clothing and do not use the band when sleeping.
• To avoid an increased risk of burns, remove the product before undergoing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) examinations.
• Do not use for more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period.
• Do not put excessive pressure on the product when worn, for example by leaning on hard surfaces, nor wear it under tight clothing or belts.

Stop use and consult a doctor if you notice discomfort, irritation, burning, swelling, redness or any other persistent change in the skin in the area where you have worn the product or if the pain increases or remains unchanged after 7 days.
The heat-generating cells contain iron (about 2 grams). If the iron comes into direct contact with the skin or eyes, remove the band, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a doctor immediately. Even in case of accidental ingestion, consult your doctor.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Avoid heating the product in any way (e.g. microwave oven) or trying to heat it, as the band could catch fire.
Do not use beyond the expiry date indicated on the package and label.
