Ialuvit Eye Drops Sodium Hyaluronate 0.5% and Vitamin B12 15 Vials it's one ophthalmic solution high in hyaluronic acid, enriched with vitamin B12 e taurine, in resealable vials free of preservatives. It's a medical device designed to stabilize the tear film and reduce the friction of blinking, and is used in case of dry eyes, tired eyes and stressed ocular surface.

The sodium hyaluronate it is the sodium salt ofhyaluronic acid, the molecule that holds many times its weight in water in tissues. Here it is 0,5%, that is 0.5 g per 100 ml, the highest concentration in the Alfa Intes ophthalmic range. It has two behaviors that matter on a wet surface: it is mucomimetic, that is, it behaves like the mucus that naturally coats the eye, and it is pseudoplastic, that is, it becomes more fluid when the eyelid stimulates it and becomes dense again as soon as the movement ends. For this reason it is distributed evenly on the ocular surface and forms a protective viscoelastic bandage, which stabilizes the tear film and reduces friction and stress caused by blinking and eye movements. Sodium hyaluronate is useful in case of dry eyes, tired eyes and discomfort from contact lenses or prolonged work at the video terminal.

The cyanocobalamin it's there vitamin B12, and is the reason for the red color of the solution: intense red is the natural color of that vitamin and does not indicate alteration of the product. Together with the taurine, an amino acid, is physiologically present in the tissues of the anterior segment of the eye, and together with hyaluronic acid the two substances assist the process of reepithelialization of the corneal surface, i.e. the reconstruction of the outermost layer of cells of the cornea. Vitamin B12 and taurine are useful in cases of stressed ocular surfaces and in all situations in which the cornea needs to be supported.

Ialuvit is formulated in hypotonic solution: contains fewer dissolved salts than the liquids it comes into contact with, and this counterbalances any hyperosmolarity of the tear film, the condition in which tears become too concentrated. The saline composition, with sodium, potassium and magnesium chlorides, brings the concentrations of these ions on the surface of the eye back to physiological levels.

100 ml of solution contains: sodium hyaluronate 0.5 g; cyanocobalamin 0.05 g; taurine 0.5 g; sorbitol; trisodium citrate; sodium chloride; potassium chloride; magnesium chloride; dibasic sodium phosphate; monobasic sodium phosphate; water for injections.

HOW TO USE

How do I use Ialuvit Eye Drops Sodium Hyaluronate 0.5% and Vitamin B12 15 Vials?

Ialuvit should be dosed individually according to your condition and according to the recommendations of your eye doctor. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3-4 times a day.

Use of the vial
To reduce the risk of contamination of the product during use, it is advisable to open the aluminum bag only in case of immediate subsequent use.
Detach a single vial from the strip.
To open the vial, remove the upper flap by rotating it, taking care to place it on a clean surface so that it can be reused for subsequent closure.
Instill 1-2 drops for each eye, letting them fall from above and avoiding the vial touching the eyelashes or the ocular surface.
Close the vial by inserting the cap immediately after application.

Ialuvit can also be used when wearing contact lenses.

Contraindications and side effects
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components or other substances closely related from a chemical point of view.
In rare cases, a slight blurring of vision upon instillation has been observed, due to the viscosity of the solution; this sensation disappears very quickly.
In some rare cases, intolerance (burning sensation or irritation) may occur, however without consequences and does not require modification of the treatment. It is advisable to contact your eye doctor if symptoms persist.

Interactions
Ialuvit must not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for curative purposes, nor in the ten minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy.

Warnings
Ialuvit is for external use only.
The solution is free of preservatives: each vial, once opened, must be used within 24 hours.
The red coloring of the solution is due to the presence of cyanocobalamin and does not indicate alteration of the product.
If used in conjunction with contact lenses, the ophthalmic solution can cause coloration: it is only temporary and does not cause any type of damage to the lens itself.
Do not use the preparation after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Keep out of reach of children.
