Fifty strips are, in practice, just under two weeks for those who take three daily measurements, or a month and a half for those who take only one. It is the useful package in case of daily self-control, where replacement is frequent and the short supply forces you to return to the pharmacy.

On the strip work the glucose oxidase from Aspergillus niger, which recognizes the beta-D-glucose and nothing else, together with a mediator which brings the electrons of the reaction to the electrode. It's useful 0.5 microliters of blood, the result comes in 5 seconds and the measurement range is from 20 to 600 mg/dL.

The autocoding eliminates the code to be set for each new bottle, and the automatic correction for hematocrit between 10 and 70% adjust the measurement according to the amount of red blood cells: it is useful in case of anemia, where a low hematocrit would distort the reading.

The blood comes aspirated by capillarity and the result is expressed in equivalent plasma, i.e. on the same scale as the laboratory. I am allowed alternative sites, palm of the hand and forearm, and the used strip is ejected by pressing a button, without touching it.

The bottle can be kept in between 4 and 30 degrees and it's worth it 12 months from the first opening; with closed package the validity is 24 months from manufacturing. The pack of 50 it is useful in case of multiple checks per day, where the short supply runs out soon.

HOW TO USE

How do I use GlucoMen Areo Sensor Blood Glucose Strips 50 Pieces?

1. Insert a new GlucoMen areo Sensor (white) into the sensor insertion opening. The drop symbol will start flashing on the display and the "Glu" glucose symbol will appear at the bottom left. If nothing appears on the display, remove the sensor, insert it back into the opening and wait for the drop symbol to start flashing.

2. Keep the tip of the sensor in contact with the drop of blood until the control glass fills. At that point you will hear an acoustic signal (if enabled) and the display will show a countdown.
3. Read the test results. An acoustic signal will announce the appearance of the test result on the screen with the glucose symbol "Glu".
4. To remove the sensor, press the eject button. The instrument will turn off.

CONSERVATION

How do you store GlucoMen Areo Sensor Blood Glucose Strips 50 Pieces?

Store the sensor bottle in a dry place, at a temperature of 4-30°C. Do not freeze. Avoid heat and direct sunlight.
Store all unused sensors in the original bottle and after removing one, close the cap tightly to preserve its quality. Do not transfer sensors to other containers.
Do not use sensors beyond their expiration date.
Do not use sensors more than 12 months after first opening their bottle. It is recommended to write the disposal date on the label (first opening date + 12 months).
The strips in unopened packaging are valid for 24 months from the date of manufacture.
