What they measure is the beta-hydroxybutyrate, in acronym BOHB: it is the most abundant ketone body in the blood and the one that rises first. The system is designed for home monitoring and self-monitoring of blood glucose and beta-ketone levels and can also be used in a hospital environment by medical personnel. It is not intended for use in the diagnosis or screening of diabetic ketoacidosis nor for use in newborns.

HOW TO USE

How do I use GlucoMen Areo Beta-Ketone Sensor Ketonemia 10 Pieces?

1. Insert a new GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensor (light purple) into the sensor opening. The drop symbol will begin to flash on the display and the "Keth" ketone symbol will appear in the bottom left. If nothing appears on the display, remove the sensor, insert it back into the opening and wait for the drop symbol to start flashing.
2. Keep the tip of the sensor in contact with the drop of blood until the control glass fills. You will hear a beep (if enabled) and the display will show a countdown.
3. Read the test results. An audible signal will announce the appearance of the test result on the screen with the ketone symbol "Keth". The symbol will flash until the instrument is turned off.
4. To remove the sensor, press the eject button. The instrument will turn off.
Do not use GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensors to test samples from alternative sites: use only fresh capillary blood from fingertips.

What are the warnings of GlucoMen Areo Beta-Ketone Sensor Ketonemia 10 Pieces?

GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensors are to be used exclusively for in vitro diagnostic use (for external use only).
Results may be incorrect if the patient is dehydrated, severely hypertensive, in shock, or in a hyperosmolar state.
Do not test patients in critical health conditions.
If the results of the blood ketone test are not compatible with the patient's perceived state of health despite having followed all the instructions indicated in the user manual of the GlucoMen areo 2K instrument, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Never make significant changes to your diabetes control plan without first talking to your doctor.
