Marco Viti protein silver 1% 10 ml nasal and ear drops

INDICATIONS

Decongestant and antiseptic of the nasal mucosa and antiseptic of the ear canal.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

Protein silver Marco Viti Bambini 0.5% nasal and ear drops, solution 100 g of solution contain: Active ingredient: protein silver 0.5 g. Excipients with known effects: sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate. Protein silver Marco Viti Adults 1% nasal and ear drops, solution 100 g of solution contain: Active ingredient: protein silver 1 g. Excipients with known effects: sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate. Protein silver Marco Viti Adults 2% nasal and ear drops, solution 100 g of solution contain: Active ingredient: protein silver 2 g. Excipients with known effects: sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

EXCIPIENTS

Purified water, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, potassium monobasic phosphate, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

DOSAGE

Adults and children Administer 1-2 drops into each nostril or ear canal 2-3 times a day.

CONSERVATION

Keep the bottle tightly closed in the original package to protect the medicine from light.

WARNINGS

Avoid concomitant use with papain-based products (see section 4.5). Follow the recommended doses and methods of use. Protein silver, if accidentally ingested or if used for a long period in excessive doses, can cause toxic phenomena (see paragraph 4.9). Important information about some excipients: Marco Viti protein silver contains sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (even delayed).

INTERACTIONS

Proteinated silver solution may interact with papain-based products. Papain is a proteolytic enzyme, belonging to the hydrolase class, which is extracted from the immature papaya fruit (Carica papaya). The concomitant use of protein silver and papain could inhibit the enzymatic action of papain.

SIDE EFFECTS

Below are the side effects of protein silver, organized according to the MedDRA system organ classification. There is insufficient data to establish the frequency of the individual effects listed. Pathologies of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: Dermatitis, Rash, Burning, Skin irritations, Skin discoloration, Hypersensitivity reactions, Argyria (see section 4.9).

OVERDOSE

In case of overdose, high concentrations of silver in the plasma and skin discoloration may occur. Additionally, systemic symptoms such as hepatotoxicity, cardiomyopathy, amnesia, and slurred speech may occur. Prolonged daily ingestion of protein silver can cause irreversible neurotoxicity, with myoclonic status epilepticus, leading to coma and, finally, death. An accumulation of silver in the skin, mucous membranes, membranes and eyes, due to ingestion or absorption of even small quantities, can lead to the appearance of argyria. Argyria is characterized by a gray to dark blue coloration of the skin, due to the binding of silver with various proteins and the consequent production of pigments.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

Pregnancy There are no adequate data regarding the use of protein silver in pregnant women. Protein silver should not be used during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Breastfeeding There are no adequate data regarding the use of protein silver during breastfeeding. Protein silver should not be used during breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary.

EFFECTS ON DRIVING ABILITY

Proteinated silver does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
