There are three strains, and they are named in full: the Lactobacillus acidophilus LA 14, which is the most abundant with 1 billion of cells per dose, the Lactobacillus salivarius LS 33 and the Bifidobacterium bifidum BGN 4. The acronym after the name of the species is not a detail: it identifies the single deposited strain, and two strains of the same species do not do the same thing.
