Apply Cicalfate+ Gel scar 2 times a day, massaging gently in the direction of the scar. To determine the maturity of the scar, apply pressure and evaluate the time needed for the skin to regain color; that is, press the scar and time how many seconds it takes for the skin to regain color. Normally, it takes about 3 seconds: the less time it takes, the less mature the scar will be. 1. If the scar regains color in less than a second after the procedure (generally up to 1 month), the scar is not yet mature. Apply the product to the scar and the surrounding area, applying light pressure. Use your index finger to gently apply the product in the direction of the scar. 2. If the scar regains color in 1 or 2 seconds, perform a "palper-rouler" by gently taking the skin between thumb and index finger and sliding it upwards, in the direction of the scar, until the product is completely absorbed (about 5 minutes). 3. If the scar regains color within 3 seconds of the procedure (usually 3 months), it means that it is mature. Proceed with a skin-stretching massage using your index and middle fingers in the direction of the scar, so as not to enlarge it, until the product is completely absorbed (about 5 minutes).
